The LSC has adopted a new dress code policy for the 2016-2017 school year Students are to be in dress code every day beginning with the first day of school through the very last day of school. Students must be in dress code in order to leave the building for a field trip.
A plain white polo collared shirt that is short or long sleeved (logos are NOT allowed on the shirts)
Previously owned Gray School Uniform polos can be worn
Gray School spirit wear shirt can be worn any day of the week.
Plain navy blue or black cardigan sweaters are allowed for cooler weather (Any type of writing, designs, logos and hoods on sweaters are NOT allowed)
Gray School hoodie from previous years is allowed
NAVY BLUE or BLACK Uniform Pants or Denim (Pants must be worn at the waist)
Cargo pants are NOT allowed.
Shorts are NOT allowed for any of the buildings.
Students are to wear closed toe shoes daily.
Flip flops, slides or swimmer sandals are NOT allowed
PHYSICAL EDUCATION: On Physical Education days, students are expected to wear a white shirt, navy blue or black shorts or sweatpants and athletic shoes. Students are expected to wear gym clothing under their school clothes; changing facilities are not available. Students will not be allowed to participate if they are not wearing athletic shoes. Cleats are not allowed.
Failure to be in dress code will result in the following:
Students will be required to call home for appropriate attire.
Students who do not comply with the dress code policy will be excluded from all extracurricular activities. This includes sports, choir, extra-curricular graduation activities, and field trips.
The following guidelines were developed by the Gray Local School Council with the intent to promote a school climate that is free of disruptions, conducive to learning, and fosters habits of good grooming that are appropriate to the formal and serious purposes of schooling. Students are expected to maintain high standards of personal hygiene.
This policy was taken from the CPS Student Code of Conduct, page 15 which states: "Students who fail to follow a school’s dress code or uniform policy may be given detentions or excluded from extracurricular activities." Thank you for your support!
