Families experiencing homelessness and/or housing instability can receive a one-time cash payment of $6500 or $500, no strings attached, if eligible and selected by lottery!

You may be eligible if you meet all of these criteria:


One of the following is true for your family:
● Your family is experiencing housing instability and you have a child who enrolled in STLS by 12/9/24
OR
● Your family is currently homeless (whether or not your child is in STLS)

Your family includes:

● A parent/guardian
● A child who is 17 or younger

Someone in your family is receiving 

SNAP, TANF, or VTTC benefits

A child in your family is enrolled in a public school

in Chicago, Harvey, or East St. Louis

If you have questions, please reach out to your school’s STLS Advocate or Liaison.


Note: Not all applicants will be selected to receive a payment. The payments will be made to the families that are randomly selected through the lottery by June 2025.
